Role: Artist, Modeler, Animator
Tools: 3D Studio Max, Photoshop
This model is based on actual training areas provided by the U.S. military and was designed for the Pre-deployment Immersive Environment (PIE) project at C2 Technologies. The PIE courseware was designed to help soldiers know what to expect when being deployed to another area, particularly overseas. It teaches U.S. soldiers what and how to pack, and where to go for information. It also trains soldiers on how to pack and stack boxes, and how to pack storage containers.
I served as the primary environment artist for the PIE project. These areas were designed to reflect actual training areas and facilities that soldiers used. I created the areas based on input from a subject matter expert (SME). I then created texture maps for the myriad of objects within the environment using Photoshop. The scene was finally exported out as an FBX for Unity. The LOAC courseware was designed to run in the Unity web player. Due to the tablet and phone requirement, the environments, characters and other models, were designed with a low polygon count in mind and smaller map sizes for faster loading. Unfortunately I am not able to show the active course, due to client restrictions.
